Life nowadays is about getting things done quickly, as we have less time to complete things in a timely manner. Microwave ovens, streaming movies, and cell phones perpetuate this lifestyle, and help move us along. However, personal development is more effective when done slowly. Significant changes take time. It’s also about the journey. The process of changing can be more meaningful than the benefits gained by the change.
It takes 28 days to create a habit, imagine how long it takes to change or eliminate one! Why personal development takes time:
Instead of looking for the quick fix, search for strategies that require effort and commitment. Relish the fact that you’re changing your life and putting in the work to make it happen. Success is easier than you think, because so few people can keep a long-term perspective. Win the personal development race by being the tortoise. Change is not only good it’s needed in life so that we can continue to better ourselves. Too often I work with clients that wave the flag and say: “I Can’t”. The negative effects from this word are insurmountable to overcome and as soon they enter our mind we fail at a 92% rate. One word is all it takes to allow our minds to give in. Practice to eliminate it and strengthen your mind. All the best, Nick Kalogerakis Coach in training Coachingandleading.org Twitter- coachingandleading
